I felt like I could put a little more effort into getting our five-a-day so we tried a new green smoothie recipe. This one had 2 cups spinach, 2 cups watermelon, 1 banana, 1 cup raspberries, and 1 stalk of celery with 1/2 cup water if needed. I got the recipe from this site.
So my review is that it was okay - I thought it was about what you'd expect a concoction like this to taste. Mostly sweet because of the fruit with a bit of salty bitterness from the veggies. I think making this in the summer with cold, sweet watermelon would help. The surprise came when my young children LOVED it.That makes it grade A in my book.
We have a few others to try and even though I love veggies and eating a good salad, I really dig drinking my recommended servings through a straw.
